Dr. Sonal Anchlia is an accomplished maxillofacial surgeon with extensive leadership, academic, and clinical experience. She has held numerous key positions in AOMSI, including EC Member (2018-2020, 2021-2022), Chair of the Women Empowerment Committee (2020-2022), and President of the Gujarat State Chapter (2023-2024).
As President, Dr. Anchlia was instrumental in ensuring the empanelment of Gujarat’s maxillofacial surgeons under the PMJAY scheme for oral cancer surgeries, a significant milestone in expanding the scope and recognition of the specialty. She also spearheaded initiatives such as the COVID mucormycosis fund collection and amphotericin procurement drive.
Academically, Dr. Anchlia holds an MDS, PhD, and MBA, along with prestigious international certifications. She has authored over 55 PubMed-indexed publications, holds an H-index of 10, and serves as Associate Editor of JMOS. She is also an AO CMF Asia-Pacific faculty member.
Her vision as Editor-in-Chief centers on fostering innovation, inclusivity, and ethical leadership. Dr. Anchlia aims to streamline editorial processes, support emerging authors through mentorship, and integrate AI to enhance transparency and efficiency in publications.
